The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, won the Water Prize for its development of scientific solutions in support of some of the world’s poorest populations. IWMI helps water users adapt to the effects of global warming. It also provides innovative solutions for smallhold farmers to increase their productivity while managing water wisely.
