Summary
Agricultural value-chain development programmes may be more effective if farmers are connected directly with traders and other actors along the value chain. Also, rather than focusing on cereals and other grains grown traditionally, shifting towards high-value commodities with considerable post-harvest shelf life can help farmers deal with lack of reliable access to the market
