Summary

The Safe and Sustainable Wastewater Use Project in Egypt, in cooperation with the Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE), organized the Fourth National Dialogue of the National Alliance for Learning on Water Reuse, with the aim of agreeing on national and local water reuse goals until 2030.

Dr. Amjad Al-Mahdi, Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa of the International Water Management Institute, spoke about the importance of expanding the safe and sustainable use of wastewater by monitoring obstacles in this area
and building on available opportunities, stressing that the Arab region, specifically Egypt, is one of the most Areas where there is water poverty because the available water is less .than the required water, so the safe use of sewage water must be used to fill this deficit Al-Mahdi referred to the valuation of the water drop in terms of quality, quality, efficiency and valuation of the return from it, and the need to take this into account in the objectives of the 2030 strategy to reach a road map for Egypt in the safe and sustainable reuse of .treated waterT
